What is genital herpes?



Genital herpes is an extremely common sexually transmitted infection caused by the herpes simplex virus. It can affect both men and women. Its symptoms are pain, itching, genital sores and blisters. The symptoms of genital herpes generally don’t show. Its caused by sexual contact and is a recurring disease, the virus stays in your body and can become active again. Its caused by by both HSV-1 and HSV-2 virus that causes blisters on the genitals, anus, thighs and buttocks.
