Sexual health can be defined as the overall well being of a person with regard to his sexuality.  It is not just the absence of disease but a positive approach towards sex and related issues. Whether it is intimacy with your partner or communication about your desires to your partner, sexual health covers a wide range of subjects which require a good understanding on our part.

Sex education is an important part of sexual health. It is good to know as much as you can about the various sexual conditions and issues. The teenage is a very vulnerable age. About 1 in 4 new HIV infections is among youths aged 13-24.This is a scary fact. Teenagers might indulge in early sex and may have to deal with unwanted pregnancy, abortions and the sexual diseases.  Parents should talk about sex to their children and inform and educate them about sexual health as a whole. Teenagers should be taught to accept their body and come to terms with their gender identity.

Its good to have an understanding of the human anatomy and physiology and knowledge about the consequences of any sexual activity. Cultivating a healthy relationship with your partner also comes under sexual health. Learning to be comfortable with your body and sexuality goes a long way in helping you make responsible sexual choices and having a good sex life.
